OrcaFlex User Group 2003

The first OrcaFlex User Group Meetings seem to have been very well received. Judging by the comments received most attendees were pleased that they took the time out to attend.

We have finally collated all the written and verbal feedback. Your thoughts and ideas are always welcome (at any time!) and always noted. The comments have been most interesting and we shall definitely build on these to hopefully improve future meetings. In brief:

Attendees found the day very informative and useful. We seemed to have got the format and presentations mostly about right. The presentation explaining the recent developments in OrcaFlex was well received. Of the technical presentations, the one on Automation generated so much interest that we have now included an article in the Orcina December 2003 newsletter. Let's hope it makes your life easier!

Many of you requested that more practical examples be used in the presentations as well as useful hints and tips to cope with encountered problems. We shall endeavour to do this in future meetings.

If any criticism was made it was the lack of time for sufficient discussion – both formal and informal amongst Users and Orcina staff but this is probably an issue that will never be resolved to everyone's satisfaction. However, we are always just a phone call or email away should you need our help or just feel the need to discuss something. We are always pleased to hear from you.

The feedback on your development priorities was interesting. We have amalgamated your development wish list, with the developments we had already prioritised, to produce a list for us to work on. For information, short and medium term developments for OrcaFlex can be found in the OrcaFlex Support section of the website.

Finally, we plan to hold these meetings annually and we shall soon be starting plans for the next ones in October/November. The website will be updated with information as we get nearer the time.
