Results: Spectral density graphs

These graphs plot the one-sided power spectral density (PSD) for the selected result.

For time domain simulations the PSD is calculated by first extracting the time history for the result, and then deriving the PSD using the Fourier transform. The fundamental frequency is specified on the general data form.

For frequency domain simulations the result spectral density is available if a random wave analysis has been run.

To obtain a spectral density graph:

• Select the spectral density graph result type.
• Select the object.
• For time domain simulations, select the period.
• Select the variable. More than one variable can be selected.
• Click the show button.
