Line reset representation
Specifies how OrcaFlex draws line objects when the model is in its reset state. This determines how lines appear on the 3D view before the model has been run. These are the available settings:
- Analytic catenary invokes the analytic catenary solver to determine the shape of each line, allowing you to include effects such as seabed contact or buoyancy that are not accounted for by the quick method. If no analytic catenary solution can be found, then the quick method will be used instead. Quick statics will also be used for any lines with features that are incompatible with the analytic catenary solver, such as mid-line connections and inactive line.
- Quick applies the quick statics method to calculate the shape of the line. This will result in a crude approximation that does not account for effects such as seabed contact or buoyancy.
Note: |
The choice you make here does not affect the OrcaFlex simulation in any way. It simply governs the way in which lines are drawn before the calculation starts. |
