Vessel data: Air gap

Vessels can report air gap results, representing the vertical clearance of some point $\vec{p}$ on the vessel above a scaled instantaneous sea surface. To quantify the expected air gap underneath a large vessel, such as an offshore platform, air gap results are typically taken at multiple reporting points.

The data on this page specify a set of air gap reporting points, and a summary report of minimum clearance for those points is available.

Each entry in this table provides the position of reporting point $\vec{p}$ in the vessel local frame, relative to the vessel origin. Each reporting point also has an associated sea surface scaling factor.
