Environment: Wave drift frequencies

These data define the wave drift frequencies at which OrcaFlex will solve, when conducting frequency domain analysis at low frequency solution frequencies.

The frequency discretisation method determines the way in which the wave drift frequencies are chosen. The options are:

Arithmetic progression: the wave drift frequencies are equally-spaced in frequency, with a constant interval.
Geometric progression: the ratio of successive wave drift frequencies is constant.

The wave drift frequencies are then fully-determined by the number required, the min and max frequencies which limit them, and the frequency interval or ratio as appropriate.

Note:

Increasing the number of wave drift frequencies can have a significant impact on the calculation time. However it is important to have a sufficient number and range of wave drift frequencies to capture and resolve system resonance peaks; we recommend that you perform sensitivity studies to confirm the accuracy of your results.
