Introduction

dummy link for benefit of anchor linked from external source

As well as being used as a normal Windows program, OrcaFlex can also be driven via a programming interface. This allows you to use a limited range of OrcaFlex's facilities from your own Windows program. The programming interface is provided as a Windows dynamic link library (DLL) named OrcFxAPI.dll. Just like OrcaFlex itself, OrcFxAPI supports either 32 bit or 64 bit processes.

In order to use the DLL, you must use a computer that has had OrcaFlex installed successfully. This is because the DLL is protected with the same security module (dongle) as OrcaFlex and uses some other shared files.

Instructions on how to link to the DLL are provided for: Python, MATLAB, C++ and Delphi. We recommend using the Python or MATLAB interfaces for automation and scripting tasks, and either C++ or Delphi for integrating OrcaFlex with other software.
