Vessel data: Drawing

The vessel drawing data controls are the same as those for vessel type drawing. Vessels are drawn by first drawing their type data, using the properties of the vessel type pen, and then superimposing on this their vessel-specific data using the vessel pen.

This enables you to define a drawing of the basic vessel type, and then optionally add to it (possibly in a different colour) a drawing of some equipment or superstructure that is particular to that vessel. If the vessel length differs from the vessel type length, then the vessel type drawing is scaled accordingly. Note that either, or even both, of these drawings can be empty if desired.

Vessel type drawing

There is one additional drawing control over those for the vessel type. This allows you, if you wish, to override the pen used for the vessel type and to instead use the one specified for the vessel instead. This might be useful, for instance, if you wish to distinguish between multiple vessels which use the same vessel type.
